This highly interactive course will prepare you to become a structured thinker and planner who can design, develop, and apply solutions to wicked problems.

Learn the complex problem-solving approaches used by the world’s top management consultancies. You will explore the fundamental concepts of structured thinking and planning and the biases that inhibit effective decision making. You will gain the skills to construct structured communication that provide a blueprint for success for your firm and your clients.

Course outline

Spread over three months, you will be guided as you learn to solve a real-life work problem during this course.

  • When this course officially commences, you will have access to the online course content, giving you the opportunity to go through the pre-readings and activities before the first face-to-face workshop on campus
  • You will attend UTS Campus in Sydney for three face-to-face workshops where you will be able to see the frameworks in action and the opportunity to practice them yourself
  • You will be guided as you work on designing and developing solutions to your real-life work problem
  • This course has been designed to enable you to engage with the course facilitator and your cohort both online and face-to-face allowing for a richer learning experience.

Requirements

To complete the online components of this course, you will need a personal computer with adequate internet access and sufficient software and bandwidth to support web conferencing. You will also require an operating system with a web browser compatible with Canvas, Zoom and Microsoft Teams.
